TURBINE Scandinavian Publishing
- is a new publishing house working mainly in Denmark, but the publishing house is also publishing in Sweden and Norway. TURBINE Scandinavian publishing is only five years old and started mainly with publishing children’s literature. In five years TURBINE has managed to get into top 5 of the biggest publishers of children’s literature in Denmark.
 
In 2009 the editorial board of the publishing house decided to expand and focus on novels and fiction for adult readers.
 
Instead of publishing works from the big language areas the board decided to focus on novels, writers and translations from smaller language areas as Belgium, Holland, Finland and Ireland. Countries which does not have the biggest attention in Scandinavia. We started out with publishing the novel “The Speckled People” written by Hugo Hamilton. This novel has got very good reviews and was well received. We also published the Dutch youth novel “Mijn vader zegt dat wij levens redden”.

As a result of our special attention on Flemish literature, one of our editors was invited on a publishers tour this spring in Belgium by the Flemish Literature Fund and in august we are invited as the only Danish publishing house on a publishers tour to Finland invited by Finnish Literature Exchange in order to strengthen to cooperation between TURBINE and the Finnish publishers.
 
We have to note, that we have also intensified our publication of youth literature. We are very proud to mention that we have been publishing a winner of Der Deutsche Jugendliterature Preis 2007 and we will be publishing one of the 2010-nominated novels.
 
The editorial line of fiction in TURBINE publishing is of a very high quality presenting some of the best and most prominent writers from especially Belgium, Holland and Finland.
